The Care of One Week Old Chili Crops

Posted on

How you care for your chili crops is the deciding factor of your success in farming chili. Taking care of chili crops needs a lot of time, energy, and strategy to achieve the most optimum possible result.

Chili farming begins at choosing high quality chili seeds of your preferred varieties. It’s a better to choose officially verified seeds from the agriculture department because those seeds are usually free from pests and diseases.

After you’ve made your choice, it’s time to sow your seeds.

After you’ve done your sowing, the next step would be to implement the basics of crop caring for one week old chili crops, which are:

  • Watering is one of the most important factors in chili crops caring. Watering is done to get your chili seeds germinate faster because water is needed for imbibitions. Make sure to use clean water instead of water from the river.
  • For one week or until your crop is at least 20 days old, you should cover your seedlings with transparent plastic to avoid sun overexposure and to prevent erosion caused by heavy rain (especially if you use the soil block sowing technique)
  • Keep an eye out for pests and diseases by paying attention to young organs of your crops like young stems and plumula.
  • Supervise the growth and development of your seedlings and make sure their growth isn’t stunted due to lack of water accumulation in your planting medium.
  • After 5 days, you can see germinated seeds (seedlings) that are ready to sow.
